PALACE x 3
(2004-2005)

The pictures depict a controversial symbol of Warsaw – the Palace of Culture and Science, which was Stalin’s ‘gift’ to the people of Warsaw in the 1950s. I represent the generation which remembers the times of the brotherhood with the Soviet nation from childhood and is constantly provoked by history in adult life. The very presence of the Palace in the heart of Warsaw will not leave anyone indifferent. The photographs were taken with an amateur Polaroid camera, similar to those used by visitors coming to Poland in my childhood.
